NPR:Now, a New Jersey school district is being sued for disciplining students who are caught drinking at weekend parties.

    thoughts?

I always thought it was ridiculous that you could get expelled from school if you got in a fight on the way home from the bus stop....this sounds even more ridiculous.
  2.
Obviously ignorant and unjust on the schools part.

i got in trouble for EVERYTHING i did outside school. granted, i went to a private high school where they make their own rules... nonetheless, i thought it was ridiculous when i got in trouble for doing things that werent even illegal. for instance, one time on the way to school, i saw my friend driving behind me so i slowed down to 35 (in a 45) just to piss him off. well apparently, one of the administrators was behind my friend and didnt appreciate my innocent prank. his argument was, and ill never forget:

guy in suit: "what if i was turned around, handing my kid a biscuit in the back seat and ran into the back of you?"

me: "uhh, well, you would have been at fault in the eyes of the law"

then he said that although it wasnt in the school zone yet, i should be aware that the road is "pretty much" the school zone in the mornings... to which i responded, "so youre saying that it should be 35 mph anyways, since its "pretty much" the school zone?"

he gave me detention because he didnt like how i lawyered him.

and because of that moment, i worked my ass off to become the successful lawyer i am today. well, not really, but that would have been cool, right?
