Clearly you don't follow international news much...

John Terry, captain of both the English National Team and Chelsea, has had an affair exposed between him and a teammates wife. It was such a big deal he was stripped of the Captain's armband for the national team...Come this summer think about how awkward it's going to be watching the World Cup and the announcers going "Here's Terry, former skipper of the squad..."

Or how about Beckham and the Nanny? Anyone remember that?

    Only in America...Right?

I think it has less to do with being uptight and more to do with our continuing vicarious engagement with the Soap Opera/Circus we've created and encourage around the life of a celebrity. Entire industries hinge on our love of watching rich/famous folks get into social quagmires very publicly, and we root for them to fall like we're watching a sports game of some sort. The trainwreck we love to replay with different passengers over and over again.

    Thanks Aaron, I appreicate it.

I think whoever wrote Tiger's apology was tremendous. It closed just about every loophole and press inquiry out there and effectively placed leverage on his wife and the sports community at large to work with him. The only issue I have is that he should have made this play some time ago.

I completely forgot about that Beckham thing. Let's not forget Kobe raped a woman in Colorado. Then bought his wife a diamond ring and it was all good.

Koger, perfectly put. My thoughts exactly. Well not exactly. Yours were waaaaay more articulate.
