Just watched a Chinese film called Exiled. I though it was pretty well done....set in modern day but many parts shot like a western.

the remake of Last House On The Left
a little bit of a let down, i expected more tortured
there is a rape scene, but its not super graphic so dont shy away from it just cause of that
there is some brutal stuff in it, thats a good thing.
    and some breasts are shown.
i liked the movie ok, but itwasnt that great, one watch is all you really need.
last part of the movie rules big time though

the other night i watched Fast And Furious
its not about cars anymore, and thats ok. 90% of car scenes are CG
    acting is par at best
not pissed i watched it, but wont watch again most likely

friday i watched I Love You, Man
    i liked this
it was pretty good and fortunately there wasnt a ton of sexual humor that usually plagues these sorts of movies.
i look forward to seeing it again sometime.

this was the first time in months ive rented any movies and i actually rented 3 in 4 days which i've never done before.

agreed. felt like the last episode in a miniseries. little to no character development, turbo poor scripting and transitions.

Zombieland..absolutely hilarious. Needs a few more zombie battle scenes in it though. The special effects and slow motion are used so well. The combination of visual and sounds make this a must to see in theaters unless you have an epic system at home and you feel like waiting for the release on DVD. Bill Murry makes a very awesome appearance in it. Smokes some weed, alls good. Stay until the credits are done.

I dont see how you could start that, and not finish it.

Saw Invictus tonight..it was alright..not worth 8 dollars in Gboro to see it..could've waited for DVD. Had some good quotes in it. Saw the trailer for The Book of Eli with Denzel Washington though..looked great. Comes out on the 15th.

friend i was with was too disturbed. (at travis)

saw daybreakers tonight. overall great movie. there was a ton of awesome gorey parts and the story was really cool. one scene at the end was lame, but the movie could have gone on forever if it didnt end the way it did.
    I would highly reccomend it.

There's a new Michael Cera movie coming out. Can't remember the name of it, it's one where he's playing a socially awkward teenager.

Invictus looks pretty good. Will wait for DVD release though. I will probably go see "The Book of Eli." It looks like it'll either be horrid or good.

That Micheal Cera movie, it sort of sounds like that new Stallone movie, the one where he shoots a lot of people and sweats.

great another movie with michael cera as michael cera in a movie about michael cera being michael cera

omggggggggg that dude has some ok roles but he needs to expand his repertoire badly.
  6.
what do you mean Kenan. He's played lots of varying roles. He's been an awkward kid trying to get drunk, he's been an awkward kid trying to be a dad, he's been an awkward kid trying to see a band, he's been a....ohhhhh....nevermind

So i finally saw Avatar. I have to say, and no offense is meant, but it really reinforced my atheism and my knowledge that the capitalist way of life is catapulting us towards extinction and the oblivion of our planet.

and its all our shitty white ancestors fault, who thought that the "civilized" way of life with the christian god fearing ways were better than being at one with the earth.

    kill whitey
  7.
Reinforced your atheism because of the natives? Your post related to white civilizations greed and I can see that presented in the movie, but the natives religion was portrayed positively.

reinforced my atheism towards the christian god, i feel like christian's superiority complex, especially in the majorly imperialist periods (1400-1800's) was paramount in the slaughter of natives and the suppresion of their cultures. more specifically north and latin american indigenous peoples are african.

really this practice can be attributed to all civilizations/religions throughout history. conquer nation, erase records of their culture.

if there is any sort of spirituality to be found in the world, it is certainly in nature and not in the bible.

Not to argue, but it sounds like you have more of an issue with humanity rather than the religion of Christianity. I could be wrong, but that's what your logic seems to point more at.

I saw the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus tonight. Great movie. Exactly what I had hoped for. The use of Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell to take Heath Ledger's place was built into the story seamlessly. Tom Waits as the devil was perfect. The scenery and sets were beautiful. The movie had a perfect dreamlike feel just like the story itself.

    Highly recommended.

I completely understand your frustration with that period of Christianity. But. The great white terror in the movie wasn't based on religion at all. In fact, it was moreso anti-religious. So the movie I could see solidifying your anger against greed, capitalism, or consumerism. But not against Christianity. You have every right to have beef with Christians, I just don't see it being solidified by this movie.

I watched 'Adam' a few nights ago, not sure if it's been mentioned yet on here, I enjoyed it immensely though.
Ending was quite the cliffhanger, but I hope they don't make a sequel for the sake of milking it for more money.

Watched Tokyo! yesterday...I thought it was pretty damn awesome....for anyone that hasn't seen it, its a collection of 3 short films by Michel Gondry, Joon-ho Bong, and Leos Carax that encapsulate Tokyo in different ways. They were each well done in their own unique way and have me stoked about my trip there.
