Yes. To be a whore (at least in the western world) is a choice. Even for the ladies and gentleman that claim to have been "forced into" their lifestyle. you're really missing the point here. most of the time the word "whore" is used it is not referring to an actual prostitute but a female that either enjoys sex or is being rumored to like sex. It is used as an insult and would never be used in the same way towards a male and mean the same thing.

Well just because Ed Hardy wearing tool bags at speakeasy tavern with 7 popped collars high five when one of their friends is called a whore doesn't mean that some men don't find the word extremely offensive. If you called me a whore I would probably get very pissed, very quick, depending on the situation. Words have so many different connotations and can be used in so many different contexts that each word has to be taken on a case by case basis. You cant be fair and say if anyone says a certain word, they think a certain way. It seems to me that people, especially in the hardcore/heavy music scenes, hate generalization of any kind but seem to hold the belief that if someone says a word that they might not mean the way that it was perceived, they are ignorant trash.
