This is from Jerry, dude that runs Creations Skatepark: Teddy just got arrested here at the park. The police didn't tell him why they just said he had warrents out for his arrest. When I tryed to find out what was going on the police officer shoved me and told me it was none of my business.
Everyone who is interested in helping to get Teddy out of jail can drop off donations here at the park during our business hours! The hours are posted on our profile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any bands who ae intersted in playing a benefit show here next saturday, September 9th. Contact me to help out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was arrested for some bullshit from a while back. I can't say for sure what because I've heard different things. My thoughts:
"Even if you don't know Teddy or have a problem with him, and whether you hate cops or trust them, this is an obvious human rights issue.
1) Creation Skate Park may not have the best sound, and it may draw a bunch of lame kids, but that place is doing a lot for the Kernersville / North Carolina scene. It gives us a fun and safe place to spend time on the weekends, it provides even the shittiest local bands with a place to play. Not to mention the only place worth skating indoors around here. Shows are always reasonably priced, and if you check the Creations MySpace ->link<- you'll see that there are a LOT of unbelievably great shows coming up soon. It is a Christian establishment.
2) Jerry owns Creation. He is a wonderful guy. He does his best to keep the skate park a clean and accepting environment. He does his best to follow the rules and keep everybody happy. He puts up with a lot of bullshit from 13 year old kids smoking cigarettes in the parking lot to testosterone-driven guys showing up and yelling about bikes getting stolen.
What does that have to do with anything? Jerry posted the following bulletin:
"Teddy just got arrested here at the park. The police didn't tell him why they just said he had warrents out for his arrest. When I tryed to find out what was going on the police officer shoved me and told me it was none of my business.

Jerry @ Creation's"
The police have been at every show at Creation recently, hassling kids for reasons that are often unjustified. Remember that show at the Kernersville YMCA when a man was arrested for "inciting a riot" when he was actually the only person trying to calm anybody down when the show got shut down? These cops obviously have a warped view of the scene and all of the positive influence it has to offer kids. Even if you are a cop sympathizer, know that police officers from surrounding areas agree that Kernersville cops "must be bored" because they get arrest and ticket people for things that are ridiculous. Yeah, there have been false accusations of people carrying guns to the show that have brought the cops out, and underage drinking in the parking lot (why the hell would you do that? I just don't fucking understand why someone would want to jeapordize a place that offers so much!) but that's no excuse.
Karl said this: "I've been around Teddy when the cops have been around, asked us questions and our names. But never did these warrants come up till now.....They just show up in [face masks and] riot gear and pretty much test kids to the limit. Hoping someone will slip and they can make a scene!....They can go back and say 'well we got him there, so we know criminals hang out there' "
Reread Jerry's bulletin. Why was he shoved aside? Regardless of the fact that Teddy was arrested from his property, why should any citizen be denied information about someone's arrest? I mean, maybe if it had something to do with national security. But let's just assume that's not the case. Why was Teddy not informed of the reasons for his arrest? Why were no warrants produced?
Let's stand up for someone who, regardless of your personal feelings for him, has done a lot for the scene. If you're in a band, chances are he's helped you out in some way. If you're a decent person, chances are he's had your back at some point. He may have made some REALLY bad decisions in the past, but don't let that blur the fact that what is happening is bullshit. Even if you can't donate money or make it to a show, at least get the word out."
The police Started a riot Down at the courthouse Again Running amok Spilling blood Bashing heads I do my part Behind the lines Swabbing door handles of cop cars With D.M.S.O. Mixed with L.S.D.
[quote][cite]Posted By: Erik[/cite]I spoke with the Magistrate earlier this evening. The bond is set @ $50,000. Tomorrow when I go to pick up his paper work im going to see whats the cheapest possible way I can get this done but in other words, everyone please donate/ re-post/come to the show. I def cannot swing it all on my own so if he's helped you, now is the time to get him back.
I spoke with teddy also, he was in as good of spirits as possible considering all the current circumstances but he was same old teddy, making the best of a bad situation. [/quote]
I'm seriously not trying to be a dick in anyway, but will somebody please tell me what he got arrested for? I'm all for helping people out in times of need and especially when its some bullshit some cops have done, but if someone did something stupid then its not my place to help them get out of where they got themselves. Not saying this is the case but there's a big difference in Aaron getting falsely arrested for inciting a riot and somebody forgetting to show up for a court date and getting arrested for that. I don't really know teddy outside of seeing him at shows or from back when I did shows at friskiz, so I would like to know what the charges are and what the circumstances to him being arrested are before I shell out any cash to help him out.
[quote][cite]Posted By: justincalculable[/cite]youd have to get a bondsman for that 10% thing to work out. but if teddy doesnt show in court, the bondsman will be after him for $50000[/quote]

if i got arrested, no one would rally pay pal account donations or have a show for my benefit. im not trying to be negative or selfish, im not worried about anyone helping me in that situation, but its the truth. teddy gets a fuck-the-police rally, most people would get mentioned in a conversation right before 'that sucks for that guy'. ive seen this bulletin out on myspace and all these fuckin rats are reposting it, but they dont even know him. should that be fair? if it was anyone you didnt recognize in the same circumstances, would you still be so interested in it?

Well, I think the reason that everyone is going so crazy over this is because Teddy knows everyone. Everyone knows Teddy. Lots of people consider Teddy a friend and he has helped out alot of bands in the past. He has remained a constant in the Hardcore scene for at least the last 4-5 years and because of that, alot of people want to help him out. He is a good person. If he was a schmuck then I doubt people would be doing all that they are doing to help him out. Another factor to think about is that he is in jail. Regardless of what his past indescretions are, that little man does not need to be in jail. Should he have gone to court, oh yea. Should he have stayed out of trouble in the first place, oh yea. But he didn't. People make bad decisions, everyone is guilty of that. That doesn't mean he deserves to be locked up for it. I could be wrong. I don't think I am though.
[quote][cite]Posted By: justincalculable[/cite] if it was anyone you didnt recognize in the same circumstances, would you still be so interested in it?[/quote] To answer that question, if it was someone that was involved in the hardcore scene and all my friends vouched for him then you better believe it. Granted there are some people that are truly pimples on the ass of hardcore but I, personally, would try to help anyone out in a bad situation. I am sure that doesn't go for everyone.
oh i totally agree with you on his personality, from the times ive shared words with him, he was a very upbeat, polite individual. also, i agree with you that jail is not a place for that guy; it wasnt a place for me when i stayed, and even if hes harder than me or whatever, its still not as fun as a cavity. i guess the reason im trying to bring that fact up about the concern people are showing is more about the rats than the sincere individuals. im just sick of every rat from k-ville, t-ville, and highpoint posting up what theyre gonna do for teddy, and please repost, and blah blah. its reminding me in a small way of all the feigned sympathy people have for issues that they werent concerned with until it was cool and popular at the time.
I think its funny everyone talks about how great of a guy he is, but then you can’t tell us why he’s in jail. If he is in jail for something petty that’s one thing. If he was arrested for something like stealing from his mother that’s another. Now what was he arrested for dammit?
I guess your supposed to give money now and figure out what happened later?
[quote][cite]Posted By: ya basta!!![/cite]he flipped a car, ran and left this dude bloody in a ditch, and never went to court for it. pretty sure thats about it.[/quote]
dude,if that's really what he did then he totally deserves to be in jail and I think its fucked up people are giving him money.i don't care how nice of a guy he is you just don't do that shit

I completely agree. Something similar to this happened a couple weeks ago in my area to some dear friends of mine. Not too sure if it is true or not, but I couldn't look at the guy again if it is. You don't leave your injured friend after a car crash. You just don't do that shit. I'm not jumping to conclusions, saying that he did all of this, because i have no clue. But if so, I'm not giving him a dime.
Hmm...I must have missed that drama post, but I tend to not read too many topics started by guests anyway. Sounds like Teddy deserves to be where he is and the people that have given him money are fools.
Yeah, of course all of my negative posts about this are based on this being what he was arrested for. I figure one of his friends would speak up if this wasn't what he was arrested for. It would be nice to know for sure though. It's weird to me that no one is saying what he's in jail for. I mean, is it really that hard to find out?
